Are your customers looking for some last-minute holiday gift ideas? Check out the SPECTRA Holiday Patterns from Imprintables Warehouse.
This cuttable, heat transfer material is great for any 100% cotton or polyester or poly/cotton blends. SPECTRA Holiday Patterns are digitally printed to give a full color effect without having several rolls of material to cut and weed. Check out some of these ideas submitted by a customer of Imprintables. These designs were created using CAD-WORX Live, a vinyl cutter and a heat press.
On August 26th, Mel hosted a webinar along with Juliet Kalmeta from StahlsID Direct on a fantastic CAD-CUT® material, Fashion-FILM™.
Fashion-FILM™ was introduced to the industry last year and is a very lightweight and thin product. It can be cut on just about any vinyl cutter, and can be used to get very fine detail. But don’t let the soft hand and thinness fool you- it’s extremely durable. It can be used on anything from tee shirts, to denim, to athletic uniforms and much much more. And the color selection (44 colors, including metallics and reflective) makes Fashion-FILM™ a material to use for almost any job.
We had a lot of questions regarding the cutting of Fashion-FILM™, so we’ll try to address them all here. You can cut the material on any friction-fed vinyl cutting machine. It’s available in both 15″ and 20″ widths and, depending on the cutter, you can cut scrap pieces down to 2″. You don’t need a special blade to cut Fashion-FILM™, just the standard blade for your cutter (in the case of the Roland GX-24, you’d use a 45° blade). Because it is such a thin material, you don’t need a lot of force to cut with. Make sure you do some test cuts to make sure that you have the proper amount of force to go along with the amount of blade exposed in the blade holder.
The Back to School webinar seriers wrapped up on Tuesday Aug 25 with an overview of some sales and marketing tips from Mel Meibers and Patrick Boyle.
The 3 keys to selling and marketing we came up with are
-Know your merchandise: Keep with up new products form your vendors and new trends in the industry
-Know your customer: Knowing what specific groups might have specific needs and which of your products or services can meet those needs.
-Know yourself: Attain the highest level of confidence in your selling, your product, and your reputation. Customers don’t always buy on price alone. Quality products and services, and how comfortable people feel ordering from you goes an awful long way!
Some comments submitted during the webinar included:
“If the timing not right for them, ask for permission to check back with them and the FOLLOW THROUGH with what you said”
“No body likes to be sold. Offer a number of choices so they can purchase on their own”
“Ask for the sale…Would you like to move forward with this choice or would you prefer one of the other selections?”
Q: I use several fonts that has overlapping letters and needs to be welded in Corel Draw prior to cutting. But when I output the welded lettering I notice some tiny nooks and crannies here and there in the cut. How can I clean up the lines?
A: This happens quite often when welding lettering. The following video will show one way to clean up the design.
